ICOC Caring Hearts Initiative marked World Kindness Day on November 17th, 2023, at the Salvation Army Nursery & Primary School in Ebute-Metta, Lagos State, under the theme “Tender Care: Guiding Tiny Hands to Spread Love and Kindness.” The event brought together various stakeholders committed to positively impacting the lives of children in the community.
The participants included ICOC CHI Board of Trustees members, ICOC CHI Staff, ICOC Church community, Volunteers, SUBEB Representatives, Salvation Army Nur & Pry School Staff, 300 Children (Salvation Army), and 150 Parents.
The day unfolded with Mrs. Tinubu, the Headteacher, extending a warm welcome and acknowledging the state SUBEB representative’s presence. Evangelist Lucky Oruwense led a heartfelt opening prayer, setting a positive tone for the event.
Elder Imagbe, President of ICOC Caring Hearts Initiative, emphasized the organization’s commitment to partnerships and sought support from the SUBEB representative for seamless service delivery. Mr. Kez Esievo, a Board of Trustee member, underscored the importance of World Kindness Day, praising the kindness expressed by ICOC CHI.
Mrs. Abimbola addressed caregivers, emphasizing the need for regular school attendance and collaboration with school management for children’s well-being. Mrs. Ewa Ekpoyong from AONN highlighted the importance of maintaining children’s hygiene and the direct impact of parents’ health on their children.
The program manager expressed gratitude to all participants and guests, reaffirming ICOC Caring Hearts Initiative’s commitment to establishing critical Early Childhood Development centers in the community. The closing prayer, led by a parent of one of the children, concluded the event on a positive note.
